A blocker is an item in Candy Crush Saga that prevents a player from reaching candies. They usually take up a square. Blockers threaten success and are very annoying. There are many different types of blocker introduced throughout the game. Every blocker has unique properties, such as Chocolate being able to multiply, and Licorice Swirl blockers being resistant to special candies. Some blockers are easier to remove than others. Blockers can not be swapped with other candies, with the exception of Licorice Swirl blockers.
Blockers are the main obstacles in the levels, so you have to clear them. Nearly every level has at least one type of blocker. Levels can have up to five types of blockers, however. The first level to have two different types of blocker was Level 25 and the first to have three different types of blocker was Level 52.

Trivia
- Each striped candy created at random during Ingredients levels and Candy Order levels' Sugar Crush will produce 3000 points.
- Jelly levels are the most dominant levels, making up 42% of all levels, whereas Moves levels are the least dominant, making up only 3% of all levels
- In the near future, there could be more level types, colors most likely being Yellow or Red.
- It is possible that one day level types may merge, as in some levels in the future may require both a certain amount of jelly squares to be clear while also having a candy order.
- Jelly levels are voted the hardest type of all, even the hardest level throughout the whole game (Level 350) is a Jelly level!
- Time levels on the other hand, are considered the easiest, due to the fact that the player has unlimitted moves, and that no time levels are any harder than "Considerably Hard".
